Who We Are
STEA Mentorship Foundation
Is a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) based in Nabusugwe, Mukono, Uganda. Founded by Executive Director and Program Manager Stella Magomu, STEA Mentorship Foundation has spent the past two years working at the grassroots level to empower adolescent girls, youth, and young women with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they need to shape a better future.
Our approach is rooted in community engagement, guided by evidence-based practices, and supported by strong local networks. As proud members of the CEDOVIP Referral Network, we actively contribute to the wider movement for social justice and community well-being.
What We Do
In an era where screens dominate daily life, this program helps teenagers understand and manage the impact of technology. We equip them with digital literacy, self-awareness, and healthy tech habits to ensure they stay focused, safe, and connected to real-life relationships.
This mentorship initiative addresses the emotional and social challenges teens face. Through group discussions, role-play, and counseling, we guide young people to build self-confidence, make informed decisions, and resist negative peer influence.
This hands-on training equips young women with professional hairdressing skills. It offers not only a pathway to employment but also a means of self-expression, confidence building, and financial independence.
We conduct community engagements, school-based programs, and training sessions on menstrual hygiene, stigma reduction, and access to youth-friendly SRHR services.
Focused on practical entrepreneurship, this program teaches women how to make and market liquid soap and hair shampoo. It promotes sustainable income generation, business skills, and the spirit of self-reliance.
Why we Exist!
Rural communities in Uganda face persistent challenges around adolescent reproductive health, school dropout due to early pregnancies, limited WASH facilities, and gender-based stigma.
STEA Mentorship Foundation was founded to address these challenges through sustainable, locally driven, and girl-centered solutions.
We believe in the power of informed girls, empowered youth, and engaged communities to drive change—from within.
